Headstrong Academy Terms and Conditions

 

Withdrawal and Payment Liability

Once the course has commenced (i.e. you have attended or accessed materials after the official start date), you become liable for the full course fee, even if you later withdraw. If you are paying in instalments, you must still complete all scheduled payments. No refunds are issued for partial attendance or early withdrawal.

In exceptional circumstances (such as serious illness or bereavement), you may apply in writing to defer your place to a future cohort. Deferrals are granted at the discretion of the Head of Academy.

Instalment Payment Terms and Conditions

Payment Schedule:
Instalment plans must be agreed in advance. Payments are due on the dates outlined in your plan. You are responsible for ensuring funds are available.

Failure to Pay:
If an instalment does not go through, we will contact you and ask you to make payment within 7 calendar days.
If payment is not received, your access to course materials may be suspended until the balance is cleared.
Ongoing non-payment may result in referral to debt recovery services, and you may be withdrawn from the course.

Commitment to Full Fees:
By enrolling and choosing instalments, you are committing to paying the full course fee, even if you leave the course early.

Deferrals and Exceptions:
If you experience serious illness or exceptional personal circumstances, you may request a deferral in writing. Supporting evidence may be required (e.g., doctor’s note). If approved, your instalment plan may be paused and carried over to the next cohort. Approval sits with the Academy Manager.

Sponsorship Applications

Headstrong Academy offers a limited number of sponsorships to support students from underrepresented communities who may experience financial, social, or structural barriers to accessing training. By applying for sponsorship, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Eligibility

Sponsorship is available to applicants who:

• Belong to communities or groups that are underrepresented in counselling and supervision training,
• Can demonstrate financial or structural barriers to participation, and
• Have applied for, and been invited to attend, an interview for a Headstrong Academy course.

Sponsorship applications are considered only after you have been accepted onto the course.

 

2. Application Process

1. After submitting your course application, you will receive an automated email inviting you to an interview.
2. This email includes a link to the optional sponsorship application form.
3. You may complete and submit the sponsorship application at any time before or shortly after your interview.
4. Sponsorship applications are reviewed after you have been accepted on the course.
5. The Head of Academy will assess your eligibility and confirm whether a sponsorship discount can be offered.
6. If approved, the discount will be applied to your course fees and reflected in your enrolment offer.

Submitting a sponsorship application does not guarantee approval.

3. Interview and Course Acceptance

• All applicants—sponsored or not—are assessed based on course suitability, readiness, and interview performance.
• Sponsorship status has no influence on the interview outcome.
• Only applicants who are accepted onto the course will proceed to sponsorship review.

4. Types of Support Offered

Sponsorship may include:

• A percentage discount on course fees

5. Confirmation of Sponsorship

If approved:

• Your sponsorship discount is confirmed in writing by the Academy.
• The adjusted fee will appear in your payment plan or pay-in-full link.
• Your place on the course is not secured until payment arrangements are completed (deposit or full payment, depending on your plan).

6. Payment Requirements for Sponsored Students

All standard payment terms apply to sponsored students. In particular:

• The non-refundable deposit must still be paid (unless explicitly waived by the Academy).
• If paying by instalments, you must set up your payment plan before the course start date.
• Failure to pay on time or maintain instalment payments may result in suspension of access to the Headstrong platform.
• Sponsored students remain liable for the adjusted total course fee, even if they withdraw early.

7. Withdrawal and Deferral

• Withdrawing after the course has started means you remain responsible for the full (discounted) course fee.
• Sponsored places cannot be transferred to another course or individual.
• Deferral requests will be considered only in exceptional circumstances (e.g., serious illness or bereavement) and may require supporting evidence.
• Approval of deferrals is at the discretion of the Academy Director.

8. Accuracy and Honesty

By applying for sponsorship, you confirm that:

• All information provided is accurate and true, and
• You understand that providing false or misleading information may result in withdrawal of sponsorship and/or removal from the course.

9. Limited Availability

Sponsorship places are limited and depend on:

• Available funding,
• Cohort size, and
• The number of applications received.

Because sponsorship numbers are very limited, meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee that support will be granted.
Applicants may be entirely suitable and eligible, but sponsorship may still not be available due to restricted spaces within each cohort.

Non-approval is not a reflection on your merit, capability, identity, or readiness for training.

10. Data Protection

All personal information submitted in your sponsorship application is handled confidentially and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Information is used solely for the purpose of assessing sponsorship eligibility and will not be shared outside the Academy’s senior team unless required by law.
